Mitzi Shewmake (1926-2024) was an artist and art professor in Winston-Salem, NC whose work was shown at galleries and museums throughout the southeast. She grew up in New York and Arizona, and described the influence the Arizona desert on the forms of her sculptures in clay and cement.
